Today is our 9th Wedding Anniversary! Nothing really especial except for the fact that we've made it through the years. For a marriage to last, it requires a lot of work which doesn't happen on it's own. It needs nurturing, tending to and time and energy. And Yes, we did it.

We went to Saint Mary's Church and as we thank God for the 9 years of being huband and wife, another couple accepts the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Then we had our Anniversary Dinner Date at Lamesa Restaurant, Asiana Hotel. I coudn't think of any restaurant that Hubby (who only loves Filipino and South East Asian food) would love except for Lamesa Restaurant and yeah, he did love it.

We started our dinner with Lapaz Batchoy Soup (only noodles, onion leaves and garlic), an immediate start for a growling tummies. Then for the main dish, Hubby's plate had plain rice, pancit canton, sisig, adobong pusit, kare-kare and inihaw na baboy while I had my fried rice, sisig, humba, kare-kare, eggplant salad and sautted beef's tripe. And we had another plate of sushi, sea food and macaroni salad. For dessert, we had buko pandan and cheese cakes. Went home with full tummies.

More Anniversaries to celebrate.

A Big Celebration might happen next year.

Till then...

An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow. ~Author Unknown

Five years ago, we've decided to get married...it was a decision that we made for ourself without the blessings of our parents...i was scheduled to go abroad that time and with the thought of having each other for the rest of our life even if we will be far apart for some years...we then promise to each other that to have and to hold from this day forward; for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part. Now i can't believe that we've reached this stage as married couple whom my friends describes as; sometimes happy, sometimes unhappy married life, some days of arguments & some days of misunderstandings, some days of doubt but still some days of love & caring, and still proud to stand and tell to each other : You're Still the "ONE"!

Well, we didn't have a grand celebration! I dreamed of celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary at Bur Al Arab but due to unstable finances it did not materialize instead we spent almost half of the day cuddling.........went for a hubby's haircut early in the afternoon and have our studio shots at 6-7pm..

super cool
super sweet

Then after we had our dinner at Avenue Hotel in Al Rigga compliment of Kuya Chaydup Sherpa.

We went home at 8pm...took Dubai Metro from Al Rigga to Burjuman Center....bought something from Burjuman then go home and sleep...

Hope to have more anniversaries:) Thanks to all our friends for their warmhearted greetings and well wishes:)

Day after tomorrow is our 5th Wedding Anniversary! Other than the plan of having a dinner at a hotel courtesy of our flatmate who work as a Manager in one of the hotel in Al Rigga I have not done the preparation as part of the things I wanted to do on that day. Definitely it will not be a grand celebration but I wanted it to be a memorable one as it marks the first milestone of our anniversaries.

I haven’t bought the dress I wanted to wear for the pictorial (studio shots). I’ve seen one at Khaleej Center but it is very costly (AED 350.00) for a one day event. If I can’t find similar to that at a cheaper price I might just check on the market for a blue sleeveless tops like this one...anyway hubby will just wear a light blue polo shirt.

but how I wish I can find something like this..

I haven't printed all the photos I wanted to put on a photo album and I haven't even gathered all of it. The photos which I'm going to send for print out was the photos we have from the day we got married. Though I'm sure it will just follow...I'm still searching for a wooden photo album. I wish someone can suggest to where I can buy it.

I don't have the itinerary yet (as if we’re having a grand celebration yeah?! Hehehe). No! I was just thinking what to do first. Attend the Mass in the morning or in the afternoon. Have the studio shots before dinner or after. What’s for breakfast? Prepare something unusual at home or have it at Ikea (it’s not something really sweet for a breakfast on wedding anniversary but I just thought of bringing hubby there coz he hasn’t tried it). After breakfast go for a swimming at Al Mamzar beach park (pool) or metro trip maybe (from Rashidiya to Jebel Ali)…what do you think? Or take 8A going to Marina Walk..hehehe…don’t know which is which…let’s see what will gonna happen…

A gift? I don't think I would buy something for Pangit...and I'm sure he isn't thinking of giving me either. The wooden chuvaness which is the symbol of 5th wedding anniversay is enough i guess...

Our status having a complicated married life is turning 5 years in 12 days from now. Well, I think there's no such thing as "perfect married life" that's why I call it "complicated married life"...added to the fact that we really have a complicated married life when it comes to dealing with our own families. It’s quite a long story to share so I’ll leave it for couple’s corner meme…hope we’ll soon share about our relationships with our inlaws…hehehe

So yeah, we’ll celebrating our 5th Wedding Anniversary soon and I am planning a very simple celebration for the two of us but if the budget is not so tight maybe we’ll have a little party at home together with our flatmates and friends.

5th anniversary is the first of the milestone anniversaries and it is symbolized by wood. So now I am thinking of a traditional anniversary gift like a wood photo album, wood picture frame or a wood jewelry box. I hope I can find a company who is selling wooden products like photo album with of course our names engraved on it. Wish me luck coz as for the moment I can’t find any online.

I was watching Judy Ann & Ryan Agoncillo wedding featured in SNN when Boy Abunda said that they get married yesterday April 28, 2009, i wondered when i heard that date i felt like it has some significant or important value to me. Then i remember, OMG! It was the same date we got married 4 years ago. Can't believe we forgot this very special day of us esp me. Was it because of me being forgetfull recently? Or because my mind is focused for his coming birthday?
Ok, to recall....we got married by civil rites April 28, 2005 at Manila City Hall with hubby's uncle and auntie as our witness. Our marriage wasn't approved by my parents and since both our families lives in the province they we'ren't able to come that day. We got married for security purposes other than of course being inlove with other. I was scheduled to leave May 5, 2005 going to Dubai to work as reliever to her sister and later look for another job.

While watching JR's wedding i can't help not to relate how our wedding became so unknown mostly to our relatives and friends.

Ok fine, we forgot to celebrate and thank God for another year to live our lives together. But you know what, yesterday we became so sweet to each other. I don't know if it was because we are supposed to be dating and celebrating our anniversary like what we have done last year (our first anniversary together). He was still asleep when i came home so what i did was to prepare for our meal for the dinner. When he was awakened he told me to lie down with him and we started to hug, kiss and teased each other which was very unusual to think that we just had a small fight the other day.

Today is our first wedding anniversary together, in 3 long years of distance marriage...

Dear God, Thank You for this very day as we celebrate our togetherness as husband and wife. Thank you for the resources that you have given us to bring us together here in Dubai. Thank you for the loving heart of each one of us that despite all the things happened in the past which might be the reason to break the promises we made during our wedding still we are trying to rekindle the lost feelings we have to each other. Bless Us Oh God:)

The celebration is not as romantic as everyone might expect (though i tried to booked for a dhow cruise dinner). We just had our dinner in Japenggo - Burjuman.

And bought a present for each other...jejeje
